Good things happen to those who wait

About a week ago I wrote about job hunting etc.... and I LITERALLY have been going insane with job interviews/ resume submissions etc... I probably applied to 40 jobs in the past week. The freak out happened 2 days ago when I checked my bank account and realized I could not pay my rent this month. It was a translation for failure in my eyes that my parents had to bail me out this month. I was this crazy 20 year old who had big plans of moving across the country to get a job, a life and a new perspective and it blew up in my face.... until....

I took a deep breath, realized things COULD be worse and just kept with the job hunt. I swear when your jobless you feel every other person around you is successful, happy, in love and perfect, and you're the opposite. The grass is definitaly greener on the other side that's for sure. So anyway, I checked my e-mail this morning and the film company from Broomfield wrote me and offered me a freelance position (short-term for now) of digitizing and authorizing their footage. I was ESCTATIC! Not only was this a job, but a job at a company that does what I love to do! The people at this company knew the people from my old job in Loveland so they probably put in a good word for me. I hope that by starting out doing this job with them, I could move to editing or producing with them! I still need benefits, I still need security of a salaried position, but one step at a time. I can pay my rent, the end. So yay, things are looking up for me.

Besides the job thing, life has bee good. Kelly came up over the weekend and me, her, Molly, and Nathan went biking Saturday and after went to all 3 breweries in Fort Collins for some free samples. It was so much fun (pics above). I also went to a country bar last week and loved it! I attempted line dancing it was hilarious. LOTS of cowboys.

It may have been because it was a "bad time of the month" or just the job stress, but my emotions over the past 2 days had been up and down. I would cry then feel ok then see a sad commercial (umm the one with the toyota with the kids that says at the end "The best nights don't end with TV) and a family is camping) or hear a nostalgic song and be all over the place.

Tonight I am going to volunteer meeting for trail volunteers in the area for something to do on the weekends with good people. I've always wanted to do trail maintenence so we'll see how it goes.

Kelly's party is Friday and Superbowl is Sunday (I think we're hanging out with these sweet kids we met last Sunday).

It's funny though that during my time of uncertainty I didn't write on here. It's almost like I put my indulgences on hold.

As for me, I have been going to the gym a lot, and ran on the treadmill yesterday for 25 mins (2 minute break intervals haha I know I am pathetic). I think I got to comfortable with the eliptical and need more of a challenge s I am slowly going work up to longer on the treadmill. I am not the best runner though I need to get a better technique. ALSO, Bridget's wedding is in July and I'm in it (yay!) so I wanna look good. I've been eating well (except for the day we did the brewery we all went nuts with food) and feel good. Dana comes to CO in 20 days and my mom is visiting in March.

Seriously, I can vouch for the saying, "This too shall pass".... because even though it seems like it never will, life cuts you a break.

Thankfully,
Er

Job Limbo

-- ride to interview

So my first week back has been pretty busy despite the fact that I am not working. I've had 2 interviews, one for a film company the other for the IT department for the county. I also also applied where Molly works Cafe' Vino, which seems like a fun place. It so annoying because they both said they'd let me know in the next week soooo... I can't apply for jobs while I am waiting to here from others. It's a Catch-22 - I think the number in the phrase "Catch 22" is fitting for most 22 year olds. You have to get a job but have little experience, and you need experience to get the job. UGH. The IT job seems ok, maybe a little blah de blah but pays well (and is one the road I live on) the film company is 50 minutes away and seems like my ideal place of employment (media, events, editing, promos, shoots, etc.. etc...) I feel I made a good impression with both but who friggin' knows.

I started interning at 99.9 The Point today and I think I am going to like it there. It's very laid-back, and I cannot wait to start going to events etc... Today I labeled CDs and logged them hahaha, I didn't even mind because I got to listen to the music of the station during it. My supervisor is also really chill, she'd definitaly be someone I could hang out with.

Besides that work stuff, life is good. We went up to Horsetooth 2 days ago and had a photo shoot and monday I walked through this prairie and saw 100 prairie dogs! It was so cool and a beautiful walk (see above). I got a metal NOSTY basket put on my cruiser so I can bring things with me (such as books, snacks, wallets, beers ya know...) Molly and I went food shopping Sunday and got so much healthy food so I've been eating really well so far. I wanna start logging what I eat on here everyday to remember, but it always slips my mind to. I am actually on Molly's MAC book right now and my computer always freaks out when I try to load pics on it. ugh. I made spaghetti squash last night with turkey meatballs and marinara and it was SO GOOD! I am becoming quite the chef.

We want to goto New Belgium tonight for the brew tour but Molly may not get back till 4:30. I've been to the gym twice (EEK) since I've been back so I'll be going today. (I missed yoga soooo much). I went to a class yesterday and there was a very cute guy there. When my warrior pose faced his way I always stared at him.... Oh Fort Collins guys, I've missed you dearly....

That's basically the gist of my life. AND we got our gas bill today (183 dollars) our landlord knows he needs to insulate our windows because thats out of control. And our guy roommate who left and is in Iraq did not contribute anything to it. Bills are so pleasant aren't they?

OK well I'm relaxing for a bit then gym. Tonight I'm making something with edamame and noodles I think, yum...

Dana's visiting in a month, I hope definitaly!

Back in the CO

<---Max and I on the bay. New Jersey is beautiful in some parts (for you skeptics:-)

Hello from Colorado, again!

This will probably be a pretty long time until I can fly home again (stupid high prices), and it was an emotional goodbye in New Jersey. I just got so comfortable being home (and having no worries) but that is not real life basically. I was feeling bummed and then when I got off the plane I saw the mountains and felt a lot better, realizing why I moved out here in the first place. I knew it wasn't going to be easy, and that's the decision I made.

Since I've been back I've been having so much fun though. Literally in the first 2 hours I was back Kelly arrived, Brook came over and we all made dinner and had some wine. It was pretty much like nothing had changed. I'm lucky to have friends who I can laugh with out here. We went out for a bit & I'm pretty sure I was delirious by the end of the night, not to sure if it was the altitude or the blue moons. I tried this wine called Little Black Dress and it was reasonably priced and pretty good (I fell for a marketing scheme of buying it cause the bottle was pretty haha). Kelly's having a Sex Toy party in 2 weeks! I am actually excited for it. It should be interesting! Last night Brook and I went out (Molly had work at 5am, ugh) and met up with my friend Ashley from Tennessee. She's the sweetest girl ever and her boyfriend and his friend were really nice. He even bought Brook and I a drink. Brook also wrote this poem about turtles which is friggin' hilarious but good as well, and she recited it last night. I'll have to get a copy of it.

AND THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE NIGHT was eating my GYRO! They are so good and the boys that work there are cute little gyro makers. Going out in Fort Collins is always interesting and fun.

I have 2 job interviews this week & I start at the radio station Thursday. I'm hoping for the best but preparing myself for the worst so we'll see how it goes....

I miss my family and friends.....it's all good in Colorado though so I can't complain.

Low-key Monday

Today was pretty low key but a lot of fun.

Dana and I took Max for a walk all the way to the bay and I took a TON of pretty beach pics. I'm gonna miss the beach when I go back. Then we made homemade mini-pizzas and watched Sex And The City (which I am still doing now). When I'm hanging out with my sister I can be lazy and not feel guilty about it. My life is gonna be busy and back to normal soon so I'm indulging why I can.

I'm excited to go back. I miss my friends, house, fort collins etc...

I forgot how much I love Sex And The City. It's so clever and entertaining. It makes me wanna get all my friends together and be girly and stupid haha. I can't wait for the movie in May!

Alright, I have to go finish season 6, ha.

And the weather was gorgeous today, soooo beautiful.

Stuck in a broken down jitneyyyy

Everyone who went to AC for Kim & Heather's birthday.

Daryl and I in Game On.....then we all headed over to Firewater, danced, Heather won 200$, went to an Irish Pub, I did a car bomb and nearly fell over. The Jitney was SUCH a good idea... up until on our way back the transmission blew and we were all pretty much gone by then so NONE of us took it seriously and were just laughing. It toko the other Jitney over an hour to get there in the freezing cold. I was laughing so hard. Kim had a crazy night... almost got in a fight with a girl, danced with an old guy. I met some cool kids at The Irish Pub from Indiana (I think?) It was something out of a movie though. Luke walks into the middle of the Jitney after it brokedown and says (totally serious) "This is survival of the fittest". It made NO SENSE but was so funny. We all felt like we were on survivor. I had the best time and miss crazy nights like that so much.

R.I.P Jitney

We were getting hated on all night. The first bar carded us 10 times, then Luke & his friend got kicked out of Firewater for trying to dance with us on the stage, and Kim danced with some girls boyfriend accidently so the girl shoved her and Laina almost busted a cap on the girl, it was hilarious and ridiculous. Guidos galore, some pretty sweet guys though (I notice most of the normal guys hang out at the Irish Pubs)

So today Dana and I saw Juno AGAIN and I LOVED IT AGAIN. If you love sarcasm, smart humor and want to laugh and cry see it, ha.

Ugh....always the day after I drink I am so friggin' lazy. I'm gonna miss this laziness when I head back to CO:-(

This year has been great so far, I think '08 is gonna be sick.

Does that make me crazy?

Craziness.

Sooo. I had the craziest dream last night.
I was on an island and had to save my sister and everyone from a huge tidal wave coming! Then I was being filmed in a movie during the whole thing. It was a bug out. I always have dreams where there is a bridge and I have to cross it because of a natural disaster. Maybe I'm feeling like I'm at a cross-roads in my life and the past is trying to pull me back... by a tidal wave? I don't know. I've always been pretty fascinated with dream meanings.

Went to the gym today for about an hour and 15. I love my new ipod it's so fun to have at the gym. Then got coffee and came back home and for some reason decided to clean the whole kitchen and stove, to help my mom I guess.

Sooo.... for another bizzaro addition to today. I was walking Max and glanced on the roof of my house and there was a HUGE vulture just chilling on the roof. AND a bunch of them circling my house. Of course my dad had to say something like "It's a bad omen! And it was over your roof!" It was so freaky. Those things are the scum of the animal kingdom.

Today, choosing to eat healthier I've only had an 100 calorie pack. Not to healthy, but working out curbs my appetite. I think Daryl, Kim and I will prob. go somewhere to eat dinner, being that we love going out to eat.

Kim and I were watching this show last night called "Solitaire" and it's addicting. They have 9 people in these small confined places and have a computer talk to them and tell them to complete these tests, and if the people can't handle it they can quit. The tests are supposed to make you feel crazy. One was them spinning on a chair for like an hour then matching color blocks. I don't know. There's something interesting about watching people in total solitude lose their minds that gets me interested, ha. Crazyyyyyyyyyyyy.

Gotta go shower now. By the way, "I'm Not There" was a good movie. Def. not for everyone. I think people were expecting a bio-pic and that's not what the movie was trying to do. It shows how Bob never was really "there" so to speak and the way he was usually perceived was by him mirroring certain people throughout his life. Cate Blanchett was ridiculously/eerily/amazingly so good in this movie as Bob's whacked out phase/brilliant years/crazy years. Heath Ledger is just hot, Richard Gere was eh... & when "Simple Twist of Fate" came on I was like ahhhh... the scenes during that are moving and I love that song so much, and talk about it all the time. Bob was crazy, but who isn't these days.

AC Tomorrow for Kim & Heather's Birthday. I hope it's as fun as last time was!

PS - Britney Spears is in mental lock down.....I hope the keep her there.

New Jersey

--messing with my digital camera in the dark to see the "dark" treatment, haha.

Being home has been awesome so far. I went to Renault Winery with my family the day before New Years and this was my meal. It was delicioussssss & my digital camera has an option called "cuisine" hahahaha. Here was my seafood dinner (look at that close up!) & the spinach salad with rasberry dressing. Best salad EVER:

--I'm such a dork.

It's soooo cold today. I tried taking Max for a walk but we cut it short cause my face basically felt like it was falling off. Daryl and I went to Calloways last night and saw some pretty interesting karaoke. One man in a dress shirt who looked like a dad was singing "Let The Bodies Hit The Floor".

It's actually so obvious how TV is making me feel even more gross by playing shows like "Fat Camp" & "Biggest Loser". And now I am going to meet Kim for lunch hahaha. My day is so eventful.

Is it even possible my whole sleeping schedule is still thrown off from New Years?

Alright lata!

While my trick ass mofo guitar gently weeps, word.

http://news.aol.com/entertainment/music/music-news-story/ar/_a/rappers-blending-beatles-into-hip-hop/20080102065609990001 ---- sad sad sad..... It's a shitty stolen hook and a shitty thing to do to a classic song. I respect certain hip-hop artists who collaborate with rock legends, mostly because they get permission and rights to do so. I honestly believe most hip-hop is recycled hooks with rhymes. Don't get me wrong, I love me some good beats to dance to, hahaha, (Jay-z mostly) but most of these rap stars need a wake-up call, and some creativity that doesn't involve butchering original music or repeating themselves 5 million times. Ok I'm done.

-- see for yourself

Happy 2008! My New Years was a blast. Now back to watching "I'm Not There" on the computer with speed going slower than EVER. 30 more minutes, then I'm reviewing it!

Jack Johnson's new album comes out Feb. 8th. I cannot wait. I love Jack and always will, just as long as he doesn't come out with something called "Brushfire Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Come Together Rodeo Clown mix", ha.

While my guitar gently weeps....

So I went out last night and got a little crazy, and it was so much friggin' fun. I went out with the girls and we sort of zoned out all the craptastic people that were surrounding us @ Sea Oaks. You know the people on American Idol that think they can sing well but really are the worst thing ever? Well last night there were dancers like that. I saw a bunch of people I hadn't seen in years, mostly everyones still doing the same old shizz. I was dancing and I hope I don't qualify as a bad dancer for the simple fact that I was drinking and that gives me a handicap. I think I have pretty good rythmn hahaha. BUT the kicker is that Amanda finds out today her boyfriend of 8 years cheated on her so she's going down to Florida for a couple of weeks to stay with Bridget. So crazy. Bridget's husband left for Iraq 2 days ago and she's pretty upset.

Tody my cousins came over for Christmas celebration. We always laugh so much about the funniest things. We are all related and have the same sense of humor about most things hahahaha.

Random thought: I think you can tell a lot about a person by which Beatle they liked the best. I personally like George Harrison the best. He laid-low, was the mastermind behind a lot of the influence from India. He didn't really seem to care for the fame. Molly and I watched Concert For George and it was so friggin' weird because we watched it on the day he died and we didn't even know it. While My Guitar Gently Weeps is such an underrated song. Living In The Material World is an amazing CD as well.

I'm staying in tonight. I was hurting pretty bad this morning. I made Shrimp Feta Orzo for dinner and everyone loved it. I wish this was my life... just relaxing, eating, pondering, daydreaming, having fun ya know... who needs a living.... seriously? I'm hardly ever bored.

My new obsession: The TV show "My First Place". I reallllly love seeing what people pick and real estate seems pretty cool to me all of a sudden. I'm definitaly the fixer-upper type as opposed to the already furnished cookie-cutter styles of most houses.

Agenda for tomorrow? Hmmmm.. I need a memory card for my camera, I'm to lazy to go farther then a 10 mile radius anywhere....

NEW YEARS IS MONDAY! AHHHHHHH!

Song of the day: "Give Me Love" - Geroge Harrison and "Love Reign O'er Me" covered by Pearl Jam. Umm... this song is amazing. I have a LOVE for orchestrated rock music. Like Metallica's "No Leaf Clover". AND I love Bob Dylan's "Simple Twist of Fate" with a violin. I think it's the violins. I want them at my wedding, they MOVE me.......hahahaha

Peace

Day after....

Christmas is Over.....

But it was awesome. We ate a delicious turkey dinner (that I missed in CO on Thanksgiving) then we went to church. We started watching a Christmas Story, then my mom and Dana went to bed. My dad and I watched our house get put up until 1 in the morning on a home video! We habe a Modular so it came on 4 huge trucks and took up the whole street. It was so funny, and I can't believe 10 years ago!

Christmas morning was nice as usual. I sorta went all out with buying things for my family, but they were personal things too. I got Dana candles, A Coach clutch she wanted, shirt, make-up bag, yah know. I splurged and got my mom a Coach wallet and she cried of course. My Dad LOVED his Colorado shirt and funny mug and wool socks, he is easily pleased. My Mom and Dad got me a lot of nice stuff, that always makes me feel guilty for ever being a snot to them, haha. A digital camera (which I will begin posting pics on here) It has settings for underwater, sunsets, landscapes, CANDLES?, FOOD, like woah. I got an Ipod Nano that has video (yeeeessssss), clothes, gift certificates, my dad got me 3 awesome books about hiking and quotes etc...Dana got me cute clothes and a calendar and she has better taste than me so I loved them, movies, CDS, make-up etc..... I don't know how I am getting all this back to Colorado!

The anticipation of Christmas is so extreme that now I am saying What Now? I have consistenly been in pajamas since Christmas Eve and reeeeeally know I should goto the gym, but I am sooo content just being home and lounging around. The only thing motivating me to go is using my Ipod there, haha. New Years is soon, and I am looking forward to it, because we are doing what we did last year, but at my friend Chris's house. All my good friends are going and that is all that matters to me. I like to stay at one place on New Year's Eve because you don't have to worry about driving, etc.... and there are No Worries, which is an ingredient for a crazy night. Basically drinking, eating at his house and eventually, if we make it, seeing the ball drop at midnight... I am hoping to still be standing this year.

I have obsessively started reading "Food Blogs" and love reading what people cook. I don't knwo why but I find it interesting, and you know they actually are cooking and eating them because of the pictures and they comment on the recipe's with a personal feel. My favorite is on Self.com called 'Eat Like Me". She posts healthy food and also consolidates a lot of meals which I find myself doing.

I wish I knew exactly what I would be doing next year jobwise. It sucks because I love falling into a routine and right now things are pretty much make or break for me. I have an interview, but who knows how that'll go. Looks like I may go back to serving coffee and food if this doesn't pan out. I miss Colorado and work (weirdly enough), and also my daily indulgences out there.

I need a new hobby. So I think I am going to SERIOUSLY start the guitar when I get back out. I couldn't bring it back here.

I miss my school friends a lot and I wanna go out and see them all before I leave. Turns out, not counting New Years, I only have 2 more weekends here and one is upcoming and my cousins are coming down, which will be fun.

I say gym in 2 hours....just....can't.....get out of pajamas.....

song of the day: The Man In The Long Black Coat - Mark Lanegan - "I'm Not There Soundtrack". (I got it for Christmas and I love most of it. I love this cover. It's haunting and his voice is deep.. I have a thing for deep male voices like that country singer that sings "Firecracker" ahhh) I need to see this movie and find a guy with a deep voice....now. Jeff Tweedy's cover of "Simple Twist of Fate" almost freakishly sounds like a young Bob Dylan. I need to look this guy up. The version he sings sounds like the time Bob Dylan sang this song with the violin back in the 60's. I love Simple Twist of Fat by Bob. It's on my top 10 without a doubt. I don't know all of Bob Dylan's songs covered on here so I can't compare the covers to the originals which is mostly a good thing. Get it though, especcially if you love Bob.

Christmas really is all around

Hello from New Jersey!

Sooo I'm Home For The Holidaysssss. I'm loving it because it reminds me of my carefree days of not having to worry about money. I get to see my family and friends everyday and that's the best part, (and the rain, I miss rain, I know I'm weird). It's weird when I tell people I moved to Colorado because everyone reacts like "woahhhhhh". So far I've had a pretty fun time being home. I hung out with Kim a lot, clearly and we all hung out a Daryls my first week home. I shopped bought cute things from stores you DO NOT find in Colorado. I do love the outdoors related approach to fashion, but sometimes I need the girly stuff.

Me, Kim, Sonia and their 2 roommates from college Jenna and Dana went to AC. Ummm it was insane. We ate at a delicious Oyster Restaurant even though Jenna & I each only got 1 oyster, THEN we literally went to every place in the Tropicana, ending with a suprising million hours of gamlbing. I befriended an older guy who let me gamble for him and it was so fun because he had like 6,000 dollars, tried giving me some of it and I was drunk and had an oddly shy way of DENYING the money, like what the hell was I thinking. Whatever, this guy was kinda strange in the end, got kicked out of the casino, hahaha. But we danced on stages and went crazy... the only way you can get in AC.

After AC we went out for Amanda's birthday, and I saw a lot of people I hadn't seen in a while. Seriously everything changes in a matter of months. Everyone seems to be growing up, and it's cool we all still remained friends. It was good seeing everyone, even if at Calloways I saw 70% of Pinelands classes 2001 - 2004. Haha

I've been hanging with Dana a lot, because I joined the gym for a month which was a good decision, Dana and I went shooting (targets, duh) with my Dad. I won 50 bucks she got a dollar hahahaha. She has NO MONEY EVER but I didn't either in school. I love her and could easily find myself living with her one day (if she cleans up the house more than she does now)

My mom and dad have been working but we got a chance to get a MASSIVE Christmas tree. IT IS SICK. It is the most beautiful tree we have ever gotten. Dana and I went shopping with my Dad for my mom, which always is funny because my dad only proclaims the whole time that we're getting "Malled and the Mall" (he hates crowds/malls)

I haven't really sat still. I don't go out much but I keep busy every day basically. I know this is probably sooo boring but no one reads it except maybe a few friends hahaha, if even that. I like writing to remind myself of what I've been up to. Sometimes life goes so fast you forget.

I'm so thankful to have a place I can come back to where everybody knows my name..." hahahahaha Christmas is SOOOO SOON. I CANNOT WAIT. I am so excited to see all my cousins too. I love them and miss them.

I have a job interview when I get back for a Media Production Company AN HOUR AWAY (KILL ME)I vowed after Philly never to drive that far again. But desperate times call for desperrate measures in my case.

I'm seeing Walk Hard TONIGHT and I AM SO EXCITED! Jenna from The Office is in it too and the soundtrack is nost. I'm going to see it with my mom I think, but I just read there's a lot of nudity, ahhh my mom may not like that to much hahaha!

2008

I am hoping 2008 will top 2007, even though it's gonna be hard to top. Maybe the country will do some good and elect a president for the rEVOLution, hint hint. Maybe all of Hollywood will discover birth control and stop reproducing offpsring. Maybe I'll find love in the Rocky Mountains and move into a log cabin like I've always wanted. The scary thing is I don't know where I will be living in a year. But fear is what keeps you going, and I am not ready to stay put yet let alone in one state.

2007 is by far my favorite year yet. Graduating, Backpacking, Cross Countrying, Coloradoing, Hiking, Singleing, Loving, Acapulcoing, Wining, Karaokeing, Changing, Dining, Editing, Being sweet...ingggg... haha. I miss my school friends so much. That was a tough transition but they all are of course doing great with life after college.

Merry Christmas. There's something so nice about Christmastime (minus the pushy shoppers).

Peace Love and all that good stuff!!!

Get by with a little help from my friends...

Sooo, this week was pretty much awesome. Sonia and Marisa came up and we showed them the scenic parts of Foco and the nightlife! The first night we ate delicious food at Coopersmiths, but we soon realized spicy food and beer makes your stomach churn. It was a fun night. We did a Poudre Canyon Drop-off shot which also could explain our stomachs. The next day we drove up 14 and saw sights up The Poudre River. Then that night we started off getting Cappocinis (spelling) coffee and vodka, then sushi at Suheros (YUM by the way) and went to Old Chicago. I played like 100 songs on the jukebox and as always we had a ridiculously fun night. We rented Waitress yesterday. It was a decent movie. It was so cool having a friend from home see where I live out here. I can't believe they drove all the way from AZ. I love my friends.

One week till NJ! I am so excited its not even funny. I gained 10 pounds prob. over the past 2 days so I'm going to be miserable but eat good food all week.

Tomorrow night is Molly's work party at the Hilton so that'll be fun. I'm working all weekend to get hours in, but who cares because I'll have all month off to be with the people I love!!!!

Since the Office is a part of the Writers Strike, no new episode. Grey's Anatomy was soooo good last week though so the second part should be SWEET.

Besides Sonia's visit nothing else too exciting in my life. I'm sad to leave work next week. I love it here:-(

Snow maybe tomorrow!!! AHHH!

Just a day...

- I can relate. From Postsecret

Just an ordinary day....

Happy Thanksgiving. Woke up watched Molly and Brooke run a sweet race... Spent the day thanking myself basically..... I rented movies ( & the Office), took a bath and read my book, did a face mask, painted toe nails, cleaned my room. It was basically a me day..& went to Brook's met her friend watched shows ate good food. A Colorado Thanksgiving

And I can admit to just pretending I was in a music video to Imogen Heap "The Moment I Said It" in my make-up mirror.

I learned holidays can completely not exist when your spending the day normally.

The end of "Day In The Life" by Beatles clearly is sick if you have head phones on. just saying haha....

Song of the day - "Thank You" Alanis Morrisette

Brewery Tomorrow?

I realize being far away I am so thankful for my family and how much they support my crazy life decisions and dreams, aspirations... and for them giving me the strength to come out here... following their footsteps... I know it's corny but it's true, and I am thankful.

Wednesday, November 21, 2007

Last weekend was Christmas sweater party, AND we did a sweet Fort Collins scavenger hunt where we had to find the most random items evvvver. There were like 70 kids at this house and we rode bikes through the town it was awesome. The Christmas sweater party was classic. We had tacky sweaters, mom pants and a mini-thanksgiving feast. Sunday was pretty lazy. I watched a marathon of America's Next Top Model ha....

My eating well streak ended today when my boss brought in all types of breakfast cakes & pizza... Oh man. It snowed last night too about 5 inches so I don't know if I'm going to my mom's cousins house in Monument tomorrow, ehhh it's sooo far. I will be at the gym tonight without a doubt.

The weekend before we went to Arthurs Rock and tryied Bouldering and we went camping in sub-zero weather. It was siiickkk.

Life has been really fun lately and Sonia comes Monday!

Tonight Molly's running friend Brook is coming over to watch ANTM & make pasta cause her and Molly are running a race tomorrow. It'll be fun.

What to do about going or not going tomorrow, ugh...... So much driving.... AND on mountains. I could just watch Blockbuster movies all day and eat by myself. haha

Thanksgivings not thanksgiving w/o your family....so I'm pretending it's just a day off. My friends out here are basically my pseudo-family.

Colorado Bizzaro

So yesterday morning I woke up with frost on my windows. Today I woke up to 65 degree weather. I love it. It's like Florida but so much sweeter. The one thing I do miss from NJ is the awesome storms, esp. watching at the bay/beach.

I started reading a book I know I'm going to love. It's called Special Topics In Calamity Physics, (yeah its not about physics clearrrllly. It's a story about a girl about my age, who went to Harvard so far, and includes "wild wayward youths" and a "captivating story". Sort of Mona Lisa Smileish for the 2000's. I'm excited. It's a NY Times Bestseller too. And a book club book, hahahaha.

Saturday is Christmas sweater party with Molly and Kelly. I have the sweetest sweater equiped with glittery presents and stockings and I couldn't forget mom jeans that come up to my chest.

Last night I went to a strength training class with weights taught by a different teacher and he was awesome. I think the balance of weight lifting/cardio/yoga is a balanced workout.

Oh and I love Yogi Tea forever...

that's it for my random happenings.

Waiting is the hardest part

I can't wait for

This is the longest I've ever been away from home and I'm soooo anxious to get back. Christmas is such a fun time of the year. I can't wait to do little things like go out to lunch w/ my mom and sister, get a tree, go places with all the girls ahhhhhh. I love CO but sometimes you need the familiar to refresh your spirits.

I went to a book club monday night (it could've been a television episode) The book was Jackie Kay's "The Trumpet" (it was racey and if you google it you'd see why) and there was 80% people over the age of 65 there talking about this book about modern day gender/sex stuff. It was comedic. I said like 2 things, ha.

Cranberries

I'm wearing my Cranberry Festival shirt today soooooo I got to thinking about cranberries, clearly and thought of this song. A trip down memory lane... I'm sorta corny btway

If you, if you could return, don't let it burn, don't let it fade.

I'm sure I'm not being rude, but it's just your attitude,
It's tearing me apart, It's ruining everything.

I swore, I swore I would be true, and honey, so did you.
So why were you holding her hand? Is that the way we stand?
Were you lying all the time? Was it just a game to you?

But I'm in so deep. You know I'm such a fool for you.
You got me wrapped around your finger, ah, ha, ha.
Do you have to let it linger? Do you have to, do you have to,
Do you have to let it linger?

Oh, I thought the world of you.
I thought nothing could go wrong,
But I was wrong. I was wrong.
If you, if you could get by, trying not to lie,
Things wouldn't be so confused and I wouldn't feel so used,
But you always really knew, I just wanna be with you.

But I'm in so deep. You know I'm such a fool for you.
You got me wrapped around your finger, ah, ha, ha.
Do you have to let it linger? Do you have to, do you have to,
Do you have to let it linger?

And I'm in so deep. You know I'm such a fool for you.
You got me wrapped around your finger, ah, ha, ha.
Do you have to let it linger? Do you have to, do you have to,
Do you have to let it linger?

You know I'm such a fool for you.
You got me wrapped around your finger, ah, ha, ha.
Do you have to let it linger? Do you have to, do you have to,
Do you have to let it linger?

I am brought back to around 2000. How sweet is that song?

The weekend with Haggerty was awesome. I dressed up like Wayne Campbell scwingggg. This week has been sweet. I saw Into The Wild, AND last night went over Ashleys and just hung out with her and her boyfriend & two friends from TN. It was really fun and chill.... AND we have landscaping,. Only got 2 trick or treaters, they were prob. scared of our torn up yeard!
I discovered the find of a lifetime too. The Gyro Vendors on the corner of Mountain & College. THE BEST thing I have eaten in a while! The one guy was a scruffy bonified babe too. I am totally going tonight even if I'm flying solo.

New fav.

Brett Dennens voice makes me melt. This song also does. And it mentions a woman in Colorado whic makes me love it more cause I live here now!!!

When I heard the news,
My heart fell on the floor
I was on a plane on my way to Baltimore
In these trouble times its hard enough as it is
My soul has a known a better life than this

I wonder how so many can be in so much pain,
While others dont seem to feel a thing
Then I curse my whiteness,
and I get so damn depressed,
In a world with suffering,
Why should I be so blessed?

I heard about a woman who lives in Colorado,
She built a monument of sorts behind the garage door
Where everyday she prays for all whom are born
And all whose souls have passed on
Sometimes my trouble gets so thick
I can't see how I'm gonna get through it
but then I'd rather be stuck up in a tree
Then be tied to it

There is so much more.

I don't feel comfortable witt the way my clothes fit
I cant get used to my bodys limits
I got some fancy shoes to try and giggle away these blues
They cost a lot of money but they arent worth a thing
I wanna free my feet from the broken glass and concrete
I need to get out of this city
Lay upon the ground stare a hole in the sky
Wondering where I go when I die
When I die.

-So Much More - BD

All in all everything is good. I had a mini-vacay last week and took full advantage of it. It also snowed last Sunday but didn't stick. I can't get over still how beautiful it is out here. I can't believe I actually live so close to it.
Haggerty and his brother are visiting its gonna be ridic because its halloween weekend!! I will be Wayne from Waynes World, schwinnggg.
I've been smiling for no reason lately I sorta love my life right now. And seeing the snowy mountains everyday on my way to work helps it as well.

Working...uh

So I am at work right now, and my bosses aren't here so I don't have any new video to edit sooooo I'm killing time. I haven't had to much of an opportunity to write since I moved to CO. I love so much about this part of the country. I loved the way people live, I haven't met one rude/mean person. We've already been hiking camping a couple times and it was beautiful, Old Town is so fun there's always music and of course beer.

I' ma freelance video editor for a small film company who does nationally broadcasted docu-dramas to commercials etc... I love it!

I really miss home though and sadly had to fly back 3 weeks ago because my Grandmother passed away..... It was the hardest thing I ever went through ever. I sang a song at the service as well.

The 2ns half of the week was fun hanging out with Kim Sonia Dana and Max haha and Dana and I went shooting (targets) with my dad. She won money, I won nothing haha.

This past weekend Molly and I rode in Tour De Fat the biggest bike parade ever where you dress up, I was a peacock ha. Fort Collins broke the Guiness Book of World Record for biggest bike parade.

I really wanna see Across The Universe
I really loved Superbad
I reeeeally am obsessed with The Office now

New Music I wanna buy: Eddie Vedder - Into The Wild Soundtrack
Song of the moment: Gorillaz - DARE - it's funky and fresh like me haha
Quote of The Day: “The life of inner peace, being harmonious and without stress, is the easiest type of existence.”

......and i am obsessed with yog aand just bought the sweetest mat. I love going there to be in a completely neutral place and work out as well and it's good for you mentally too. I'm pretty flexible now so yeauh.

I can't wait to move
I can't wait to move
I can't wait to move
I can't wait to move
I can't wait to move
I can't wait to move

I can't believe all the crap people will go through to make themselves feel better and to appear in distress for pity from others.

No Bullshit, Colorado here I come.
